Description
Double-distilled Irish whiskey from the Kilbeggan Distilling Co., Tyrconnell was first produced to celebrate the victory of a racehorse of the same name at the 1876 National Produce Stakes horse race. This expression has been aged for 16 years in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels before a victory lap in Oloroso sherry casks and Moscatel wine casks from Andalucia. Bottled at 46% abv, this expression is a limited edition.
The nose has honeysuckle and champagne with peach, apple and figs. The palate is nutty with rich dark chocolate and sweet honeycomb notes, before a long and dry finish brings lime, grapefruit and warming spiced oak.
